Randall County to Get New District Attorney

In an unexpected shakeup, a new district attorney will be taking over in Randall County next year.

Randall County Criminal District Attorney Robert Love did not file to run for re-election on Monday, leaving his office open. An assistant district attorney in Love’s office, Lacy Miller, was the only candidate to file to replace him.

The move caught many political observers off guard, as Love had filed a campaign treasurer appointment prior to the filing deadline. However, with his decision to retire, Randall County is guaranteed to have a new district attorney come 2027.

According to her profile on the State Bar’s website, Miller is a graduate of Texas Tech University School of Law and has been a licensed attorney since 2003.

Love has served as District Attorney since first being elected in 2018.
