A familiar face has joined the crowded race to be the next judge of Randall County Court at Law Number One.
Todd Hatter, an Amarillo criminal defense attorney, filed his paperwork Monday to run for the bench being vacated by Judge James Anderson. Hatter’s filing was confirmed in a phone call with County Chairman Kelly Giles on Monday afternoon.
Hatter previously ran for judge of the 181st District Court in 2022, losing the primary to Judge Titiana Frausto. According to his previous voter guide profile, Hatter is a graduate of Oklahoma City University School of Law.
The Randall County Court at Law race also features Claire Grammer, Dallas E. McKibben, Andrew Caleb Smith, and Paul Hermann.
The Republican primary election for this office will be held in March 2026.
