Republican Party of Texas Chairman Abraham George has named his preferred running mate ahead of the RPT’s state convention.
George named Amanda Hopper as his pick to serve as the next vice chair of the Republican Party of Texas. Hopper is married to State Rep. Andy Hopper, a popular conservative legislator from the North Texas region. Hopper is also the co-founder of Wise County Conservatives.
At this year’s state convention, George is being challenged for his position by D’Rinda Randall, the current vice chair of the RPT. Randall is running on a ticket with David Covey, a South Texas activist who previously ran for Texas House in 2024.
The Republican Party of Texas will hold its state convention in June in Houston.
