Delegates to the Libertarian Party’s statewide convention met in Abilene over the weekend to select their nominees for a variety of statewide offices.
The party nominated Ted Brown to be their U.S. Senate candidate in 2026 in the race that will also feature Democrat James Talarico and either Republican Ken Paxton or John Cornyn. Brown was previously the party’s nominee for the Senate seat held by Ted Cruz in 2024, winning 2.36 percent of the vote.
For Governor, the Libertarians nominated Pat Dixon to be their candidate in the race against Republican incumbent Greg Abbott and Democrat Gina Hinojosa.

Anthony Cristo for Lieutenant Governor
Tom Oxford for Attorney General
Alonzo Echaverria-Garza for Comptroller
Neil Snider for Land Commissioner
Austin Kelly for Agriculture Commissioner
Arthur DiBianca for Railroad Commissioner
Mark Ash for Place 3 Judge, Court of Criminal Appeals
The Libertarian Party did not field a congressional candidate or a state legislative candidate in Amarillo this year.
The general election will be held in November.
