Gov. Greg Abbott won’t be the only candidate on the ballot for the state’s top elected office next year.
Mark Goloby, a Houston-area technology executive, has launched his campaign for governor as a primary challenger to Abbott. Goloby is the founder of TC Technologies, a wireless remote monitoring company.
According to his biography on his website, Goloby is a graduate of Texas A&M University. His top platform priorities are cutting sales taxes and property taxes, ending corporate welfare, and supporting the agriculture industry.
Goloby previously ran for Texas Comptroller in 2022, losing in the primary to incumbent Glenn Hegar.
The Republican primary election will be held in March 2026.
