Texas Supreme Court Chief Justice Jimmy Blacklock will be making an appearance at an Amarillo Republican event later this month.
Blacklock will be delivering a lecture on the topic of “Defending Our Constitutional Heritage” at a luncheon hosted by the Amarillo Republicans on Thursday, October 16. The luncheon — hosted at Abuelo’s west meeting room — will begin at 11:45am and will cost $25.
A graduate of the University of Texas and Yale Law School, Blacklock is currently the Chief Justice of the Texas Supreme Court. Blacklock was appointed by Gov. Greg Abbott after having previously served as an associate justice on the court. Prior to his work as a jurist, Blacklock was an assistant attorney general. He will be up for re-election this year.
