Between the two candidates running in the Republican primary for House District 86 in March, one candidate is holding a slight fundraising edge.
According to campaign finance reports, Jamie Haynes is leading the fundraising race with $211,353.46 raised across two reporting periods. This total includes several large donations from a number of donors, including $20,000 from the candidate’s husband, as well as multiple in-kind donations from her husband’s business, Triangle Realty. At the end of the most recent reporting period, Haynes reported having $168,119.22 left in cash-on-hand.
Haynes’ opponent, Holly Jeffreys, has reported raising $190,426.16 across two reporting periods. The candidate reported a large contribution on her first campaign finance report from Texans for Lawsuit Reform PAC in the amount of $50,000. The candidate also reported a $10,000 loan from herself. At the end of the most recent reporting period, Jeffreys reported having $133,242.06 left in cash-on-hand.
As for the Democrat in the race, Cullin Knutson, the candidate has reported raising $810 and spending $1,644.83, for a cash-on-hand total of $0.
The Republican primary race between Haynes and Jeffreys will be decided on March 3rd.
