The gloves are coming off in the House District 86 Republican primary, with one PAC taking aim at candidate Jamie Haynes.

AFC Victory Fund has begun running social media attack ads against Haynes, one of the two candidates in the House District 86 primary to replace retiring State Rep. John Smithee. The ads include a short 15-second video that claims Haynes is “with the liberals,” as well as a voter guide website that ties her to past bond elections and local unions.

Haynes has not directly responded to the ads, though her supporters in the comments on many of the posts have called the ads lies.

A quick search of Facebook’s Ad Library shows Haynes is running several campaign ads showcasing herself in a positive light. Haynes’ opponent, Holly Jeffreys, does not appear to be running any social media ads of her own as of this writing, though she is being boosted in a social media ad by TREPAC.

The primary election will be decided on March 3rd.
