Michelle Eggleston will serve as Potter County’s next county judge.
Eggleston, an attorney with a private practice in Amarillo, won the general election on Tuesday to replace Nancy Tanner as Potter County’s top executive. Eggleston received 63 percent of the vote as the Republican nominee, defeating mediator and realtor Jerri Glover, who received 37 percent as the Democratic nominee.
With her victory, Eggleston will become the second female county judge in Potter County history and will lead a Commissioners Court that is dominated by Republicans. Also joining Eggleston on the court will be two new commissioners — Jeff Raef and Timothy Gassaway. H.R. Kelly and John Coffee are still serving with terms set to end in 2028.
