Voters in Potter County voted out incumbents Blair Schaffer and Warren Coble Sr. in Tuesday night’s primary election.
In Precinct 2, voters chose businessman and truck driver Jeff Raef over incumbent firefighter Blair Schaffer in a narrow vote, with Raef ahead 51.33% to Schaffer’s 48.67% according to unofficial election night results. Raef is the Republican nominee for the November general election, where he is not expected to face an opponent.
In Precinct 4, incumbent Democrat Warren Coble Sr. lost with 44.82% of the vote to Timothy W. Gassaway’s 55.18%. Gassaway will face Republican Jose Perez in the November general election.
The Commissioners’ Court includes an elected commissioner from each of the county’s four precincts as well as the County Judge. With incumbent Nancy Tanner retiring, Republican Michelle Eggleston and Democrat Jerri Glover will face off in November.
With the shakeups in the two commissioner races and the retirement of Judge Tanner, the majority of the Potter County Commissioners’ Court will be different on January 1st, 2027.
