A new candidate has emerged in the race for Randall County Republican Chairman.
Douglas Messer filed his campaign treasurer appointment this week to seek the office of county chair. A Google search for Messer’s name shows that he currently lists his occupation as retired.
Messer named Cynthia “CJ” Mays as his campaign treasurer.
The incumbent party chairman, Kelly Giles, has not indicated whether he will seek re-election as county chairman. As has been previously reported, Giles is currently facing criminal charges allegedly stemming from a ballot filing issue during last year’s primary election.
The primary election for this office will be held in March 2026.
