Railroad Commissioner Jim Wright will face a challenger in next year’s Republican primary election.
On Wednesday, Bo French, the former chairman of the Tarrant County Republican Party, announced he would be challenging Wright in the primary for Railroad Commissioner in March. French recently stepped down from his role as the chairman of the largest county party organization in Texas to join the race.
According to his website, French highlights reversing the regulatory stranglehold on oil, ending DEI mandates in oil, and supporting life and the nuclear family as a few of his priorities.
The primary election for this role will be held in March 2026.
