Local authorities are currently investigating a shooting that occurred downtown on Sunday.
On Sunday, December 27, at approximately 2:02am, officers were called to the 700 block of South Polk on the report of a large fight involving around 40 people. While enroute, several calls came in reporting the fight and that shots were being fired in the crowd. When officers arrived, everyone was attempting to leave the area and the incident.
Officers know from witness interviews several people were using their phones to record the incident. Authorities are asking that anyone who has video of the incident contact Violent Crimes Detective Sgt. Jones at 806-378-4084.
