The Amarillo Police Department is investigating a homicide that took place on Sunday.
According to APD, officers were called to the 800 block of Moore Street on Sunday morning on a report of shots fired. When officers arrived, they found a single victim with what appeared to be a gunshot wound to the upper body.
Officers identified the victim as Joshua Daniels, 23. Daniels was taken to a local hospital where he died of his injuries.
Judge Richard Herman has ordered an autopsy. APD Special Crimes is investigating this incident.
