APD Special Crimes Investigating Murder-Suicide Case

Local authorities are investigating a murder-suicide that reportedly took place in the 6200 block of Estacado.

According to the Amarillo Police Department, officers were dispatched on Monday to Estacado with the initial report indicating a structure fire with people trapped inside. Firefighters made entry into the residence, locating two deceased individuals. One person was identified as Robby Fithen, 45, and the other was identified as Fithen’s 12-year-old daughter.

APD reports Special Crimes investigators have determined Fithen shot his daughter before shooting himself. Randall County Justice of the Peace Tracy Byrd has ordered an autopsy.
