Local Republican Chairs File for Re-Election

Both Amarillo-area Republican county chairs are running for re-election.

According to the Texas Secretary of State, Potter County chairman Dan Rogers and Randall County chairman Tim Revell have both filed to run for full terms to their seats in 2020. Both men were elected by their county executive committees to replace outgoing county chairs following the 2018 primary elections, but will face the voters for the first time in 2020.

Rogers took over the Potter County Republican Party last year, replacing Bill Bandy. Revell replaced Terry Harman, who left his position as county chairman shortly after the November 2018 election.

In addition, Rogers’ Democratic counterpart, Potter County Democratic chairman Steve Land, is also running for re-election in 2020. Land won his seat by unseating incumbent Gentry Powell in 2018’s primary elections.

If a candidate is interested in running for a county chairperson position or for a precinct chairman position, they can contact their party chairperson. Applicants can file for spots on the ballot through December 9.
