Land Files for Re-Election as Potter Democratic Chair

Potter County’s Democratic Party chairman is running for re-election in 2020.

According to filings with the Texas Secretary of State, Steve Land filed to run for re-election this week as Potter County Democratic Party chairman. Land is the first candidate on the ballot in the 2020 race and is the first of the four party chairs across Potter and Randall Counties to file for re-election.

Land was first elected to the position in 2018, besting incumbent Gentry Powell, 52 percent to 48 percent. Prior to his election, Land served as vice president of the Potter-Randall Democratic Club.

Potter County Republican chair Dan Rogers, Randall County Republican chair Tim Revell, and Randall Democratic chair Mariah Strong-Woods will all be eligible to run for re-election in 2020.

Filing for spots on the ballot will end December 9th.
