North Amarillo Fire Causes $40,000 in Damages

A fire that occurred on Thursday morning in North Amarillo caused $40,000 in damages.

According to the Amarillo Fire Department, crews were dispatched around 9am on Thursday to a fire at 603 N. Jefferson. A two-story residence was found with heavy fire involvement on the front of the house. Crews experienced strong fire conditions on the front porch and in the living area of the residence. 

The fire was brought under control at 9:36am. The occupants were not home when the fire started, but arrived on scene while the fire was being extinguished. The American Red Cross was also called to the scene to assist the uninjured occupants.

Fire Marshal reports indicate that the fire started on the front porch of the home. The fire is still under investigation and damages are estimated at $40,000.
