Greater Southwest Music Festival to be Revived

The Greater Southwest Music Festival will be returning to Amarillo next year.

Amid financial concerns, the music festival's board of directors announced earlier this month that the festival would be closed. Board members cited high rental fees and costs of production as the main reasons for closing the festival.

After an outpouring of donations from the community, the Greater Southwest Music Festival announced this week that the festival will be returning for 2018. The festival's board said that the organization is currently in the process of looking for ways to streamline the festival for future years.

The Greater Southwest Music Festival also announced that it will be accepting donations. If you have a donation, you are asked to send it to Greater Southwest Music Festival at 1000 S. Polk Street, Amarillo, TX 79101.

Donations can also be delivered to the festival's GoFundMe website at gofundme.com/support-greater-sw-music-festival.
