Reno Named Magistrate Judge of Amarillo Federal Court

Lee Ann Reno has been selected to become the next U.S. Magistrate Judge for the Northern U.S. District Court of Texas.

Reno has been selected by the current district judges of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas to serve as the next magistrate judge for the court's Amarillo division. Reno will replace Judge Clinton E. Averitte, who has served for 30 years as Amarillo's only magistrate judge.

A native of Panhandle, Reno attended Texas Tech University and Texas Tech University Law School. Reno is a partner at the Amarillo law firm Sprouse Shrader Smith.

Reno was one of several Amarillo finalists who were screened by a panel that was appointed by Chief Judge Barbara M.G. Lynn. The panel consisted of: Brian P. Heinrich, Chairperson, Elisha Demerson, Lisa J. Dunn, Lilia Escajeda, Bonita L. Gunden, Thomas C. Riney, and Kelly
Utsinger.
