Lubbock Government Office Evacuated, One Person in Custody

A government office in Lubbock has been evacuated and one person is in custody, following an incident that occurred on Tuesday afternoon.

LPD officials report that Lubbock Police were dispatched to the Health and Human Services office in Lubbock on Tuesday on the report of shots fired. Officers say that a woman used a pellet gun to fire a shot inside of a bathroom at the office on Tuesday.

Those in the building were evacuated following the shot.

Officers took a suspect into custody, identified as Rosenda Rey, 22. Rey is charged with terroristic threat enhanced to a 3rd degree felony. Rey was also taken into custody on two municipal warrants.
