Amarillo Officers Talk Man Off Bridge

Amarillo police officers talked a man off of a bridge during an incident on Monday.

On Monday afternoon, officers were dispatched to Amarillo Boulevard East and Lakeside on the report of a man sitting on a bridge railing. Officers were told by a caller that a man appeared to be sitting on a bridge and looked like he planned to jump off.

Two hours after officers arrived on scene, officers were able to get the man off of the bridge and to safety.

The man was transported to a local hospital following the incident.
