Top Amarillo College Finance Officer Resigns

Chris Sharp, who had served as Amarillo College’s Vice President of Business, has resigned after being placed on administrative leave.

Sharp’s resignation comes as the college has launched an investigation into financial procedures. Amarillo College did say in a statement that their “finances are stable.”

According to an organizational chart published by Amarillo College, Sharp’s position oversaw the Accounting, Budget, Grant Accounting, Inventory, Purchasing, Payroll, Bookstore & Cafe, and East Campus Housing departments. The position is directly below the Amarillo College President, who is overseen by the Board of Regents.
