City Council Place One candidate and local business owner Chip Hunt has started running a television ad promoting her campaign.

Hunt, who has focused her campaign on fighting crime after she was violently attacked in her Sixth Street Antique Mall last year, states in the video that she is running “to make Amarillo a safer place to work, live, and raise a family.”

The crowded field for City Council Place One features two other candidates who are running television ads: lottery winner Dean Crump and firefighter Josh Craft. Other candidates include Amazon worker Sherie Wood, pastor Margie Gonzales, and analyst Kelsey Richardson. Ray White will also be on the ballot, though he has stated he has dropped out and is not actively campaigning.
