Randall County to Hold Tax Rate Hearing Tuesday

Provided

The Randall County Commissioners Court is set to meet on Tuesday, September 13th. Included on the agenda for the 9:00 am meeting are public hearings on and approvals of the county’s budget and tax rate.

According to documents published by the county, the proposed rate of $0.41713 per $100 of valuation is higher than the no-new revenue rate of $0.39360. County documents also appear to show that this rate is equal to the voter-approval rate, which is the highest rate allowed without requiring an election.

Both portions of the rate (the maintenance and operations portion and the debt servicing portion) are also each above the no-new revenue rates for each portion.

The proposed M&O rate is $0.36763 while the no-new revenue M&O rate is $0.35219. The proposed debt servicing rate is $0.04950, while the no-new revenue debt servicing rate is $0.04141.

The meeting will take place in the Randall County Commissioners’ Courtroom at 501 16th Street in Canyon.
