A corporate entity based out of Delaware is taking aim at Gov. Greg Abbott, scooping up millions of dollars in television ad spots ahead of the November general election in Texas.
The group, Coulda Been Worse LLC, is placing a buy to run a commercial that criticizes Abbott on hot-button issues like the 2021 Texas energy crisis and the Uvalde school shooting earlier this year. The ad features a narrator going over criticisms of Abbott, followed by a short clip of Abbott saying, “it’s could have been worse.”
According to reports from media buy trackers, the organization has already placed the ad on the airwaves with $6 million in television placements. This makes the organization the third-highest television spender in the gubernatorial election, trailing Abbott’s campaign and the campaign for his Democratic opponent, former U.S. Rep. Beto O’Rourke.
