City of Amarillo Announces July 4 Schedule

The City of Amarillo has announced the following schedule in recognition of the July 4 holiday: 

  • City Hall will be closed on Friday (July 3). 

  • Amarillo City Transit will operate on its current modified schedule on Friday (July 3). ACT will not provide service on Saturday (July 4). For more information call (806) 378-3095. ACT will be providing face masks on Thursday (July 2) at the ACT station located at Third Ave. and Fillmore Street. ACT staff will be at the ACT station beginning at 6:45 a.m. Face masks will be available as supplies last. The Federal Transit Administration and the Texas Department of Transportation are providing face masks for ACT riders and the general public. The City of Amarillo encourages residents to wear face masks as a primary means of preventing the spread of COVID-19. 

  • The July 4 schedule for Solid Waste (trash pickup): 

  • Residential customers: Thursday (July 2) routes will be serviced on Wednesday (July 1). Friday (July 3) routes will be serviced on Thursday (July 2). 

  • Commercial customers: Friday (July 3) routes will be serviced on Thursday (July 2) and Saturday (July 4) routes will be serviced on Friday (July 3). 

  • The city landfill and brush sites are open Friday (July 3) and closed on Saturday (July 4).
