APD Seeks Public Information on Armed Robbery Investigation

Amarillo Police are currently seeking the public’s help in obtaining information about a local armed robbery.

According to APD, on Thursday night, officers were dispatched to a convenience store robbery in the 4200 block of Southwest 34th Avenue. The victim told officers that a male wearing a black or dark blue hooded sweatshirt, light blue jeans and “very noticeable” red Nike tennis shoes pointed at her with what was believed to be a gun wrapped in a blue bandana. The suspect then demanded money out of the register and left the store with an undisclosed amount of money. The suspect left the location on foot and is believed to have gone south into a neighborhood.

The suspect is described as a male of unknown race standing at about 5’2” tall and having an average build. There were no injuries reported from this incident.

Anyone with information is asked to call Amarillo Police or Amarillo Crime Stoppers at 806-374-4400. Tips can also be made online. Anyone with information leading to an arrest could be eligible for a reward.
