Amarillo Police: Alcohol Case Referred to DA, TABC

The Amarillo Police Department has referred a case involving serving alcohol to minors to the Randall County Criminal District Attorney’s Office and the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission.

According to APD, on March 7th, members of the APD Detective Division performed compliance checks at local bars. At one location, the bartenders allegedly served underage patrons who were acting under APD supervision.

Authorities say it is illegal to sale alcohol to minors, with the offense being listed as a Class A Misdemeanor, punishable by a fine, jail time, or both. A violator’s driver’s license could also be revoked.

This incident has been referred to the district attorney and the TABC. The minors assisting in the investigation did not consume any alcohol.
