City Warns Residents of Mosquito Issues

With heavy rains in the area, mosquitoes are back in business in the Texas Panhandle. Because of this, the City of Amarillo is reminding residents this week to be watchful of the blood suckers in your own back yard.

According to City, residents should exercise the “Four D’s” for mosquito control. The “D’s” consist of draining excess water and mowing yards, using insect repellent, dressing with long sleeve shirts and pants, and daily avoiding mosquitoes at dusk and dawn.

For information about mosquito control in Amarillo, you are asked to call Environmental Health at (806) 378-9472.
