Car Hits Amarillo Hallmark Store, One Injured

One person was sent to the hospital on Wednesday night after a car ran into a Hallmark store in Amarillo.

According to the Amarillo Fire Department, crews were dispatched on Wednesday night to the Hallmark store at 7406 SW 34th Avenue. An elderly couple drove their Toyota Avalon into the south end of the store and appeared to have tried to drive back out on the north end.

The drivers were unharmed. A female Hallmark employee was sent to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries caused from glass breakage. Structural damage appears to be minimal, and damages have been estimated at $100,000.

Six fire units and eighteen firefighters were on scene at the accident.
