Sagan Endorsed by Major Labor Union

Democrat Greg Sagan has earned the endorsement of one of the most influential labor unions in Texas in his bid for the U.S. House of Representatives.

In a list of candidates released following the 2018 Democratic Primary election, the Texas AFL-CIO announced that it would be backing retired newspaper columnist and Naval officer Greg Sagan in the race for the 13th District of Texas. Sagan was added to the list, along with multiple Democrats seeking congressional spots statewide.

The group has endorsed multiple candidates statewide, namely Democrats. Among some of the largest endorsements by the group for 2018 are Beto O'Rourke, an El Paso Democrat, for the U.S. Senate and Lupe Valdez, former Dallas County sheriff, for Governor. O'Rourke is the Democratic nominee for his spot and Valdez is facing Houston businessman Andrew White in the runoff for the Democratic Party's nod for the governorship.

Sagan is the Democratic nominee to face Mac Thornberry, the Republican incumbent, in the November general election. Libertarian Calvin DeWeese is also running.
