One Texas Democrat has taken a step toward entering the 2020 race for the White House.
Julian Castro, former U.S. Secretary of Housing and Urban Development under President Barack Obama, launched an exploratory committee for a possible White House bid today. Castro, a former mayor of San Antonio, has long been rumored as a possible presidential contender, along with another Texan, Representative Beto O’Rourke.
Castro joins Washington Governor Jay Inslee and California author Marianne Williamson in exploring a bid for the White House in 2020. New York businessman Andrew Yang and Maryland Congressman John K. Delaney are running.
