Price Appointed to Bonnen Committee

State Representative Four Price (R-Amarillo) has been appointed to serve on a committee assembled by Texas House Speaker front runner Dennis Bonnen.

According to the Texas Scorecard, Bonnen appointed Price, four other Republicans, and five Democrats to a committee to find a new parliamentarian for the Texas House. In addition to Price, the West Texas area has two other members on the committee, coming in the form of Lubbock Republican Dustin Burrows and El Paso Democrat Joe Moody.

The role is notable for Price, as the Amarillo banker and attorney is now working under his one-time rival for the Speakership. Price joined the race for Speaker to replace the retiring Joe Straus earlier this year, but withdrew shortly after Bonnen’s entry to the race.

It is unclear when a new parliamentarian will be selected for the House.
