Class Resumes This Week

Classes for area students resume this week and students from around the Panhandle are ready to get back to the grind of learning.

Students from Amarillo ISD, Canyon ISD and San Jacinto Christian Academy will return to class on Wednesday, August 16th. Students from Ascension Academy in Amarillo have a longer break than their peers, returning to class on Monday, August 21st.

At Amarillo College, students return to class on Monday, August 21st and at West Texas A&M University, classes will begin on Monday, August 28th.

While there are downsides for students returning to the desks and pencils this week, there are bright spots. Josh Stephenson, a student at San Jacinto Christian Academy, told us that he is ready to return to class to see his friends.

"I feel like I'm ready for school to start, but a part of me isn't," Stephenson told the Amarillo Pioneer, "I'm ready to finally see all my friends and catch up with them."
