The Associated Press has named Jose Altuve the 2017 Male Athlete of the Year.
It was announced on Wednesday that Altuve had been voted the 2017 Male Athlete of the Year by news providers across the country. Altuve was selected, beating out New England Patriots star quarterback Tom Brady and Cleveland Cavaliers basketball star LeBron James.
This is the second such award received by Altuve since the end of the 2017 World Series in November when the Houston Astros defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers. Altuve was also named the 2017 Sportsperson of the Year, along with J.J. Watt, by Sports Illustrated.
In addition, Altuve was named the American League Most Valuable Player by Major League Baseball.
