A new direct flight to Phoenix has been introduced at Rick Husband International Airport in Amarillo.
According to information released by the City, the new flight was introduced on Friday morning. The new flight option will offer direct to and from flights through American Airlines.
Councilmember Eddy Sauer said in a statement that the new flight option is a "sign of growth."
"We...are moving in the right direction and we should all recognize this as a symbol of steady and strategic growth," Sauer said in a statement.
The new flight option will officially be launched in the Spring of 2018.
