Fires Now Prohibited in Potter County

Potter County Judge Nancy Tanner has approved an order issuing a ban on outdoor fires, effective immediately.

Judge Nancy Tanner signed an order on Monday prohibiting outdoor fires within Potter County. According to the order signed by Judge Tanner, all outdoor fires in Potter County have been banned until further notice. However, exceptions are provided in the order for firefighter training, public utility maintenance, planting or harvesting, prescribed burns or covered household fires.

Potter County now joins the area counties of Moore, Oldham, Armstrong and Parmer in ordering outdoor burn bans.
