Potter County officials have announced a new 90-day burn ban, beginning today.

On Monday, the Potter County Commissioners Court approved issuing a new 90-day burn ban following the expiration of the most recent burn ban for the county on July 11. This new ban will run through February 17, 2021, although it may be extended.

“Potter County Fire and Rescue has responded to several wildfires in the area in the past few days and without significant precipitation, the danger will continue to grow,” Potter County Fire and Rescue said in a statement.
