Emergency Crews Respond to Single Car Rollover

A single-car rollover prompted the response of several emergency crews in Amarillo on Friday.

On Friday afternoon, emergency crews responded to a single-car rollover near the intersection of Interstate 40 and Washington. According to eye witnesses, a white SUV had exited the interstate near Washington Street and sped to make a red light. While doing so, the SUV clipped a small vehicle that was in the turn lane and flipped several times.

Within minutes, Amarillo police, medical crews and Amarillo Fire crews were on scene to assist those who were affected by the wreck. In addition, drivers around the intersection parked their cars and ran to the scene to assist those who were involved in the collision.

Fire crews left the scene after arriving about 30 minutes earlier. Road crews and police officers stayed on scene, collecting information from the parties involved.

Both drivers appeared to be unhurt during the collision. A child who was inside of the white SUV also appeared to be unhurt.
