Texas Senator Ted Cruz promoted cutting funding to the United Nations, over the weekend.
"Spoke w/ Israeli PM [Benjamin] Netanyahu tonight to wish him Happy Chanukah & assure him of strong support in Congress. No US $ for UN until reversed." Cruz wrote in a post on Twitter.
Cruz's statement comes following the United Nations Security Council voted 14-0 to condemn Israeli settlements in the West Bank, according to the New York Times. Prime Minister Netanyahu has been verbally critical of President Barack Obama, following the United States' abstention from the vote.
