Austin Ambulance Stolen on Christmas

An Austin-Travis County EMS ambulance was stolen on Christmas, according to CBS Austin.

According to the news report, at about 4pm, an unknown person jumped into the driver's seat on the ambulance, while the ambulance was parked downtown. The driver took off with a patient and two medics in the back of the ambulance.

The medics alerted police during the theft and provided them with information about their location. The driver of the ambulance then parked the ambulance and ran away.

Austin Police have not said whether the suspect involved in the theft has been identified or arrested.

No person was injured in the event.
