Suspect Charged in Robbery on Terrace

One man has been charged in the Monday robbery on Terrace Street.

Michael N. Royal, 38, has been arrested for the Monday robbery of a home on Terrace. The victims, a 88-year old female and an 89-year old man, reportedly had two rings and a watch stolen in the home invasion. Amarillo Police began searching local pawn shops, and discovered that a man had attempted to pawn a watch that matched the stolen item's description. The shop did not complete the transaction, because the man would not show identification.

Investigators secured the video of the man leaving the store, and an officer reportedly recognized the man as Royal. Royal was located on 3400 block of South Tyler for traffic offenses. He was booked into the Randall County Jail.

As officers continued the investigation, APD reports that the stolen watch was recovered from the home of Royal. APD also reports that the Randall County District Attorney's Office has accepted a two-count complaint of aggravated robbery on Royal.

According to APD, Royal is in custody, at the time of their news release.
