Since 2021, campaign finance records show that in local Amarillo elections, 22 political consulting firms have been the primary consultants or vendors for candidates and campaigns in contested elections.
Of those 22 consultants, just three have assisted on more than five contested political campaigns in Amarillo. Of those three, two consultants stand out as having won a majority of their races.
Neel and Partners, a North Richland Hills-based consultancy, has worked on the campaigns of 14 candidates and ballot measures in Amarillo since 2021, winning 12 of those races. Led by veteran political consultant Ryan Neel, the firm has been a powerhouse in ballot propositions, assisting Save Amarillo PAC with several of its successful takedowns of proposals in Amarillo. Among ballot propositions, the consulting group remains undefeated in Amarillo. Their biggest win of the 2026 cycle in Amarillo came with their work for Potter County Commissioner candidate Jeff Raef, who unseated an incumbent in the March primary election.
Following Neel and Partners, Amarillo-based ad firm Nobox Creative has also had a successful run in the political campaign space, having won 11 of 12 contested races in the area since 2021. Led by local marketing guru Kim May, the advertising firm’s list of past clients includes a number of local officeholders at both the city and regional level. In 2022, Nobox Creative performed much of the work on State Rep. Caroline Fairly’s successful primary run, and in 2025, it notched two big wins on the Amarillo City Council thanks to clients Les Simpson and David Prescott.
Other consultants with a significant number of wins in Amarillo since 2021 include Creative Cannon, Double U Marketing, and Front House Strategies.
