A handful of candidates will be seeking your vote as a write-in option in the upcoming November 2026 general election.
According to the Texas Secretary of State’s Office, candidate applications were accepted from a few candidates running for Governor and Lieutenant Governor before the filing deadline in August. These will be the only two state-level races featuring write-in contenders in November.
The accepted candidates are:
For Governor
Edward Earl Giles
Jenn Mack
Jinghpaw Majoishingra
Mike Miller
For Lieutenant Governor
Arturo Espinosa
Stephen Samuelson
If a voter wishes to cast a ballot for one of these write-in candidates in November, they must physically write or type the candidate’s name on their ballot. Those votes will then be counted for the candidate, assuming the voter’s intent is clear.
