Potter County Opens New Downtown Parking Lot

By Anthony Gable

Those reporting to jury duty in Potter County are getting some good news, as the parking lot across the street from the new district courts building is now open for business.

The parking lot located between Fillmore and Pierce Streets officially opened to the public last week. As of Monday morning, cars were already parking in the lot as citizens and attorneys headed to the courthouse for their respective business.

As you may recall, the parking lot is located on the property that was once occupied by the old Potter County District Courts building. After the building was demolished last summer, Potter County spent several months preparing the new lot to be opened.

Potter County Commissioners have expressed a desire to limit parking in the lot between 2am and 7am, though it’s unclear whether those policies are currently being enforced.
