U.S. Rep. Ronny Jackson (R-Amarillo) has thrown his backing behind one of the candidates for Texas Comptroller.
According to the Don Huffines Campaign, Jackson has endorsed the former state senator to be Texas’ next chief financial officer. Jackson’s endorsement of Huffines is yet another seal of approval from many of Texas’ most conservative elected officials for the former state lawmaker.
Huffines, a businessman and former state senator from the Dallas area, is running in the Republican primary for comptroller, in a race that also includes appointed incumbent Kelly Hancock and Railroad Commissioner Christi Craddick. Huffines has also received endorsements from elected officials such as U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, former U.S. Rep. Ron Paul, and U.S. Reps. Chip Roy, Wesley Hunt, Keith Self, and Brandon Gill. In addition, Huffines was also endorsed by the late conservative leader Charlie Kirk.
The primary election for the office will be held on March 3rd.
