Potential changes could be coming to the Amarillo College Board of Regents’ public comment policy during a special meeting on Wednesday.
AC regents will vote on a proposal to change the district’s public comment policy following controversy surrounding public comment at their last meeting board meeting. During that meeting, local activist John Adair was denied a chance to speak after failing to turn in a public comment registration card. After demanding time to speak, Adair was removed from the meeting by law enforcement.
As of this writing, details of the proposed changes to the policy have not yet been unveiled to the public.
In addition, the regents will also receive a report about Regent John Betancourt’s recent DWI arrest and will potentially take action on an item related to that issue.
The meeting will take place on Wednesday at 6pm in the Palo Duro Board Room on the Washington Street campus.
