Local authorities are investigating a fatal crash that occurred on Grand Street early Wednesday morning.
According to the Amarillo Police Department, officers were dispatched on Wednesday morning at 1:23am to the 3400 block of North Grand Street on the report of a single vehicle crash. A Chevrolet pickup had been northbound on Grand Street, failed to negotiate the curve, and rolled.
The sole occupant of the vehicle, Alex Tomas, 17, died at the scene.
Authorities believe speed was a factor in the crash. This incident is being investigated by the APD Traffic Investigation Unit.
