Amarillo conservative activist Danny South has passed away.

Tributes for South poured in on social media on Monday night following South’s passing. The local conservative activist and Amarillo Tea Party leader was well known for his work with conservative causes in Amarillo, his support for Republican candidates, and for his 2017 campaign for a seat on the Amarillo College Board of Regents.

South was a lifelong resident of Amarillo, owner of American Inspection Services, and an alumnus of Amarillo College and Texas Tech University.
